When the Lancon family was visiting the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana, they were not expecting to capture a ghost on camera but that’s exactly what happened. In fact, it might even be one of the best photos of a ghost that’s ever been captured at the plantation.

On August 8th, the family traveled from Lafayette to take a tour of the historic plantation. The tour guide brought the family throughout the house while explaining the history. And of course they took numerous photographs while they were there. After the tour was over, the visitors checked their photos to see if anyone caught a ghost but at that point, they didn’t notice anything unusual. It was only after the family returned home and took a closer look at their pictures that they saw something very unusual and quite creepy.

A photograph of a mirror caught Jamie Lancon’s attention as it showed the reflections of her son George who was taking the picture on the right hand side; Glenn Lancon was a little bit to left of the center of the picture wearing a white hat; Jamie Lancon was peeking out from behind a wall on the left side, and another visitor wearing a green shirt and tan hat was standing behind George. But what was so unusual was that a mysterious face could be seen above Jamie’s head (nobody else was in the room besides those four).

So, who exactly made their presence known at the exact same time that the picture was taken? The ghostly face looked incredibly similar to a picture hanging in the plantation of Kate Winter who was the daughter of the former owner William Drew Winter. Kate passed away at the plantation at 3 years of age from typhoid fever.

You can decide for yourself whether or not the Lancon family photographed a ghostly face as the picture can be seen here.

It appears as though Kate is still roaming around the plantation even after death, but she’s not the only one as there are at least 12 ghosts who are rumored to still occupy the property. But probably the most well-known ghost is that of a slave girl named Chloe who was allegedly photographed between two buildings on the plantation. Another photo was taken that appeared to show a female entity looking out of a window and directly into the camera. (Both of these photos can be seen here.)

And back in 2019, when a married couple was staying at the plantation, they took a video in the dimly lit hallway where ghostly feet seemingly appeared out of nowhere at the bottom of the stairs. Two sets of feet with white socks and black buckled shoes looked as though they were walking away from the steps. Additionally, there appeared to be a third set of feet that paused for a short amount of time before walking away. The video can be viewed here.

Based on all of this photographic and video evidence, Myrtles Plantation certainly lives up to its reputation as being one of the most haunted locations in all of America.
