Two of the biggest names in the music industry, Britney Spears and Loretta Lynn, have experienced living in a haunted house.

Let’s start with Britney Spears. During an episode of the “We Need to Talk About Britney” podcast, Spears’ friend and makeup artist Julianne Kaye revealed some pretty creepy details about the singer’s former Sunset Plaza mansion in California.

When Britney told Julianne about the bad vibes in the house, the makeup artist called her friend to perform a spiritual cleanse on the property. “She calls me…I had my friend do reiki healing on her, he had come up, I guess she’d had a crazy partying weekend and needed to relax. He left, and she swears to God that he opened some spirit portal or something, and these bad spirits had come in…and they were trying to, like, push her down the stairs or something crazy,” she explained, adding that the activity was so bad that Spears moved out of the house shortly after. Britney told her friend that there were two ghosts (a man and a woman) who were “very disturbed”.

What’s even more disturbing is the fact that after Spears moved out of the house, actress Brittany Murphy moved in and she later passed away at the residence. And not long after Murphy passed away, her husband also died in the home. Coincidence? (Pictures of the house can be seen here.)

Now onto Loretta Lynn, apparently Civil War soldiers haunt her plantation in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. It is believed that 19 Confederate soldiers are buried on the property of her plantation and they’re certainly active in the afterlife as staff members and visitors have reported strange experiences. Even Loretta’s daughters have witnessed these ghostly soldiers.

Even Loretta Lynn had experiences on the property as she reportedly saw a mourning female inside of the home and in the graveyard. The spirit is believed to be Beula Anderson who died in 1913 during childbirth.

According to WKRN, Loretta’s album covers have turned on their own despite the housekeeping staff straightening them every week. Even the singer’s grandson, Anthony Brutto, had his own experience there when he was 16 years of age. “The power happened to go out,” he said, “And as I round the corner to get back into this room, this chandelier is the only light in the house that was on. Now what’s strange about that is this whole room is on the same breaker. So there’s no possibility this chandelier would be on with all the other lights off.”

Loretta Lynn witnessed a lady in white.

The upstairs is particularly haunted as two of Loretta’s boys (Jack and Ernie) wouldn’t sleep in one of the rooms because of the paranormal activity. In fact, Jack claimed that an apparition of a Civil War soldier was trying to remove his boots. Furthermore, staff members have reported hearing strange knocking sounds coming from inside of the closet even though nobody was in there.

The front balcony is another active location where Loretta saw the ghost of a woman wearing all white pacing back and forth while wringing her hands.

The spirits aren’t evil or malicious, they just “…do things to let you know they’re still here,” said ranch manager Will Rourke. (Pictures of the home can be seen here.)
