We don't know anything about the new GT variant, except for the fact it will feature a massive rear wing and a roof scoop.

A new variant of the Ford GT has been teased ahead of its debut at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The most obvious change we can see from the shadowy preview image is the addition of a large rear wing, and a roof-mounted air intake.

More than this we don't know, as Ford has yet to provide any details about the car.

We expect the car to also feature other aerodynamic changes, including modified side sills, front air intake and, possibly, rear diffuser. New wheels, tyres, and livery packages are almost a certainty.

It's unclear if Ford will modify the GT's 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, which in standard road-going trim delivers 470kW of power and 731Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Demand for the Ford GT has outstripped supply, and in October last year Ford extended the car's manufacturing run, expanding the production cap from 1000 to 1350 cars.

The new GT model will be unveiled on the morning of July 4, local time, where it will share the stage with the 567kW/847Nm Mustang Shelby GT500.
