The upcoming electric hatch has pulled a Lufthansa cargo plane to show its worth as a 'muscle car'.
Mini has amped up the tease for its first mass-produced electric model, towing a Boeing 777F cargo plane to show how much torque is on offer.
The new Cooper SE was hooked up to a Lufthansa cargo plane weighing around 136 tonnes at Frankfurt airport, and filmed for a clip posted on social media. It's the first in a series of videos that'll be released before production starts in November.
Although it hasn't been revealed, we know what the Cooper SE will look like when it launches thanks to a set of pictures snapped by our spy photographers.
Like the design study preceding it, the production car will get yellow detailing around its closed grille and a stylised 'E' badge, along with grey aero covers for the wheels. The ride height appears to be raised over a regular Mini, potentially to house the battery pack.
When it lobs, the Cooper SE is expected to use a version of the BMW i3's electric powertrain. The latest iteration uses a 42kWh battery pack, but reports have suggested the Mini will instead get a 33.8kWh unit from an older model, good for around 180km of range.
