San Fernando’s softball team will host No. 8 Granada Hills Charter in the L.A. City Section’s Open Division first round on May 9 at 3 p.m..

West Valley League champions Chatsworth, led by pitcher Ava Justman, received the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 San Pedro.

No. 4 Kennedy is hosting No. 5 Carson, and No. 6 El Camino Real will travel to No. 3 Banning.

With the way the Open Division field is set up, there’s potential that episode three of San Fernando-Kennedy and Chatsworth-El Camino Real could take place in the semifinals on May 14. San Fernando and Chatsworth each won both of the regular season matchups against Kennedy and El Camino Real, respectively.

In Division I, Birmingham received the No. 1 seed and will host No. 16 Lincoln High in the first round on May 9.

No. 15 Palisades at No. 2 Eagles Rock; No. 12 Port of Los Angeles at No. 5 Cleveland; No. 13 Venice at No. 4 Chavez; No. 9 Bell at No. 8 Poly; and No. 10 Sylmar at No. 7 Roosevelt.
